The Impact Of Parent’s Attitude On Children.

Wall Painting: Is It Worth A Child Trembling?

“Are you an idiot? You should start acting mature, you have grown up to be older than a toddler, and this is not what you should be doing”.

The angry father, who just came frustrated from the office, took off all his stress at the seven-year-old child for spoiling a small part of the wall with a crayon.

The father’s shout left the child trembled, who ran towards his mother, who comforted him back to calmness.

The words had a more significant impact than what the father anticipated.

As You Sow, so shall you reap

Several days later, the father came back from the office as usual, and as he entered the house, he heard the cries of his younger son, which increased as he walked towards the room.

The loud cries were worrying. Thus he hurried towards the kid’s room. As he closed by the place, he heard his older son scolding his younger brother with the words, “Are you an idiot?

You should start acting mature, you have grown up to be older than a toddler, and this is not what you should be doing”.

He failed to recognize the effect of his behavior on the building up of a child’s personality.

A child has the most remarkable mental growth during a young age, and Parenting creates a massive impact on their character development.

Importance Of Parenting

Parenting |Everything You Need To Know About It

According to research by the pew research center, 45% of the parents were considered good parents by the community, while a significant proportion was regarded as bad at Parenting.

But to understand what separates good parents from bad, we need to know what Parenting is?

Parenting is also referred to as child-rearing, considered taking care of a child’s social, economic, and behavioral needs from birth to adulthood.

Parenting does not naturally require you to be a biological parent. Still, someone involved in the child’s upbringing may include a single parent, adopted guardians, or elder brother and sisters.

Researchers have spent their time filtering out reasons for child behaviors. After years of effort, they figured out four distinct parenting styles that had vivid consequences on the children’s reactionary actions.

I have labeled a short description of each of them below.

Authoritative Parenting:

Researchers have regarded it as “just the style parent should follow” the style considers a moderate response to children’s demands and wishes.

At the same time, a considerate involvement in their life is another trait. It includes infrequent punishments and more of a friendly and forgiving environment.

Authoritative Parenting

Autocratic Parenting:

This type of Parenting involves very rigid and strict behavior towards children, which often hinders their mental progress, and causes distress in their decision-making ability.

Autocratic Parenting involves wide use of Punishment whenever rules are broken or not fulfilled; there is a high set of targets listed for children; however, little measures are made to have effective and friendly communication.

Permissive Parenting:

This type of Parenting is practiced widely amongst middle-class families compared to lower or blue-collar classes.

As the name indicates, Permissive Parenting involves a friendly and cooperative environment amongst the family, where parents usually lay no or minimal expectations for their children to fulfill.

In contrast, parents make sure to have productive communication with the children whenever needed.

Children under permissive parents often possess good decision-making skills and have commendable communication power; however, they sometimes lack self-reliance and accept mistakes.

Uninvolved Parenting:

Researchers have labeled the parenting style as “quit it immediately,” one of the main reasons is the parents’ ignorance and negligence towards children.

Neglectful Parenting includes little or no set of parents’ demands, which are countered by no attention towards responsiveness to children’s needs.

The parents often are the main reasons behind lackings in a child’s social behavior and mental traumas.

Kids facing Parenting shall grow up shy and hesitant, or the exact opposite, being blunt and over-reactive.

The Mental Development Of A Toddler

As the above studies indicate, parental behavior can have a lasting impact on the recipients, who shall have the same responsiveness throughout their lives.

Another thing that plays a vital role in developing a child’s personality.

Early education has enormous importance in a child’s upbringing, and the environment at the learning place determines the learner’s reactionary behaviors.

According to recent analytics, it has been concluded that a child’s brain has the maximum development as they reach the age of five.

As per research, 90% or more of an adult’s brain is formed before the kid climbs through early childhood education standards.

As it can be comprehended that most brain development occurs in previous years, a child must receive the highest quality of education in the first years to carry a positive outlook towards life and face future challenges with an open mind clear understanding.

Six Ways Of Effective Parenting

Teach Them Life Skills:

One of the essential parenting abilities is to prepare your children for “real-world” problems.

Learning life skills help them to deal with the demands and challenges of life effectively.

According to research, life skills lead to happiness, better incomes, and a more productive individual than those who lack necessary life skills.

A few essential life skills that parents should focus on their children are managing money, budgeting, Interaction with people, and adaptability. Developing these Life skills greatly enhances their traits.

Early Education

Be A Resilient Parent:

“The way you see people is the way you treat them, and the way you treat them is what they become.” Goethe, German

Children adapt how you treat them or treat others, whether wrongdoing or decency.

There is a considerable impact of Parents’ behavior on children.

A recent study proved that Kids copy their parents’ actions, so it’s essential to model the behavior you want your child to exhibit.

It is better to teach them and be resilient, humble, and loveable, letting their personality shine.

Reward Or Punishment:

Rewards and Punishment should be a core part of effective Parenting. Rewarding your kids on achievements encourages them to do better the next time, while Punishing or forbidding them stops them from doing that wrong actions or activities.

Rewarding your children boosts your child’s good behaviors and improves and strengthens your child’s relationship.

The best rewards are not material rewards such as toys or Gaming stations.

Social bonuses such as hugging or Kissing them or Simply praising them for their efforts are more potent than Material rewards.

Start with praising them, and you will be amazed by the outcomes.

Stop Yelling Today:

According to a recent study in the UK, yelling at kids could be as harmful as hitting them, and the child who is screamed at by their parents are more likely to exhibit behavior problems.

Yelling at kids could lead to severe issues such as depression, the effect on physical health, chronic pains, and worse behavior that is most likely to harm their overall life.

Additionally, yelling badly affects brain development. A previous study found a noticeable physical difference found in parts of the brain of children abused at a young age.

Boost Your Child’s Self-Esteem:

Low self-esteem in children could lead to externalizing behavior. Building and boosting your child’s self-esteem is an excellent way to stop them from externalizing behavior.

A child with self-esteem always does creative things because of confidence in himself, while the kids with low self-esteem feel unsure of themselves and overthink the adverse outcomes.

The best ways to build and boost self-esteem in kids include Helping your child do new things, supporting them every time, praising them, and encouraging them.

These few things can make a difference in developing confident children.

Appreciate them For Being Good:

When the parents appreciate the kids, they always do more than expected the next time. The benefits of enjoying kids are far more advantageous than you might expect.

It highers the level of happiness lessens stress improves the ability to cope with stress, and improves physical health.

All benefits are linked to appreciation. In a UK study, admiring and loving kids improves everything from Physical health to mental health, and Additionally it results in a more sustainable relationship and longevity.

The perks of appreciating kids are more, so make sure to enjoy kids for every small thing.
